Default Got some New Wheels

Well I finally decided to upgrade my Design 90's. Bought some 996 17 inch Twists (7 & 9 inch respectively), came with Bridgestone SO2s. Have to say I am very happy with them, fill the arches better and makes the car look even better. Apart from a little more tramlining they feel better than the originals.

Now just waiting for my Bilsteins and springs!! Thought initially I wouold keep the car stock, but there we go.

Hi Chris,

Much nicer that design 90's. Where did you get em from? How much?

I bought some Alan Partridge DVD's today (sorry had to add that in for the Norwich connection)

Cheers

I think I have the same wheels. PO put them on. I think they look great on 964's.
For U.S. guys; I just bought new tires for my car, discovered a place in Miami, FL called Ernies Alloys, huge selection of used and new wheels, fixes them etc. Only Porsche & Mercedes. Look him up if you need a wheel guy.

Thanks guys, particularly for the Alan partridge connection (local joke!!), although I don't come from round here, just live in sunny Norfolk. Sunil, I got them from Jasmine Porsche, and they set me back just over £600 including delivery. I had seen several sets on Ebay go for close to that and the Bridgestones have about 7mm of tread on them, so all in all I was pretty pleased with the deal.

I think most of us start out that way but soon end up reaching for our credit cards......

$900 shipped. One wheel has two minor 1/4" scratches (from torque wrench), all others are perfect.

I will place an ad in the classifieds, the link did work today.

PM me (if it works), if not I can check this string later.

Thanks.

i like the look. I've seen other cars with the twists on also, and that's probably what I'd put on. The cup wheels (d92?) look nice also, but the twists seems to give it more flair without being overdone.

Didn't Porsche make the D-92 CUP Style in an 18"? I think that Ive seen them in a mag or on a thread here. They may have come on the 993 in 95 or 96, maybe?

Default Wheels

Hi all

Just seen these on flee bay. Would they be too wide? They are off a 996 I think

front 225/40 ZR18
rear 285/30 ZR18

Also there are a set of Turbo 2 alloys with
rear 295/30 ZR18

Cheers

I think you can only fit 18" rims on a 964 Turbo. The geometry on a 'standard' c2/c4 will not handle properly with 18" rims... so i believe...
