Red face Wanna change front blinker bulb..

Hi..new here,
I have 90c2 with clear front directional signal lense covers and have a burned out lightbulb. Just want to know how to go about changing the bulb closest to the center of the car. I have removed the 2 tiny screws1)located on the corner lense cover -which I have removed- and (1) located on the edge of the more inside lense cover(the place where the burned bulb resides). I can't seem to easily remove the more inside lense cover. I did notice that there were 2 bolts attached to the little "black rubber bumper thingy" between the 2 lenses. If I remove that, will I be able to pull the more inside lense off?

Thanks much,
M.M.

MM,

The indicator unit is only held in by one screw (and two lugs) so you should be able to pull the whole unit forward and out.

You can then twist the bulb out and replace it.

MM,
Welcome to rennlist
The little "black rubber thingy" sounds like a front bumperette, standard on all US 964's (thank you DOT).
Once you remove that (2 nuts), you can pull the front lens straight out as suggested.
Since you have it apart, now's a good time to clean behind the lens assemblies (you'd be amazed how much sand and gravel end up behind there)

Just out of curiousity, do you have a clear front lens AND side lens?

Since your signal lenses are clear, suggest you switch the bulbs to the new Philips or Osram bulbs that will make your lens look clear without having an orange image of the bulb behind the lens. It still blinks orange so its perfectly legal

pzull,
do you have any further details on these types of bulbs?
I have clear markers on my 964 and would be interested in these, as I currently have orange bulbs.

The Philips is silvered:

The Osram has a funky iridescence when not lit:

I use the Philips but my buddy has the Osram. Both are top quality stuff.

Oh, while you're at it if you have H4 headlights, you can get 50% brighter Philips new technology bulbs which draws standard wattage but is brighter and slighly whiter...no its not one of them "boy racer" blue bulbs
