Phil

Fair enough, I'm just trying to make myself feel better - I spent £6K more than you for the same car!

Actually we could overtake at the same point - being LHD you'd be overtaking along the verge!!

Sorry couldn't resist it!

Far more friendly would be for me to overtake you, we could then shake hands as I passed....

Phil, who's obviously bored on a Friday afternoon...

Hey Big Mac,

Thanks for the picture from your office window - looks like Iririki to me. I had my honeymoon there about 10 years ago!!

Shame to hear you're still not getting enough time behind the wheel though!!

Cheers

Full marks for the resort identification!

My time will come (to drive that is). I've got two weeks worth of driving, in five weeks time, then after November, I'm back in NZ for good. Without the expat package I could never have afforded the car so I can't ask for too much sympathy.

Cool

Just to update this topic. I've now got a Thule roof bar system with bike and windsurfer carriers and it all seems very impressive.

My only slight concern is that the rear bar is lower than the front one cos of the shape of the roof (knew I should have bought a Ford Escort...). I guess this doesn't matter, although you can get taller rain gutter towers which would offset it. Any thoughts anyone?

Now I just need to buy a new board...

Cheers

Jeez Phil, after reading about your trip to Germany, I'd thought you'd be staying away from the water for a while!

I use the SeaSucker mounts. They stick very well to the glass of the pano roof. Of course, I can't open the roof with the bike on...
