must admit - a day off midweek is a godsend to keeping your licence clean in north wales - easy money at the weekends :-(
scottish borders are safer (at the moment) for driving 'quickly'

One of our party picked up a ticket at Bylchau (A543 between Denbigh and Pentrefoelas) on Sunday, anyone else heard anything?

Don't know the exact time as yet, it may have been in the pm when he left the main party.

Kevin,

Do you know if he was stopped and given it at the time, or was it a 'through the post' job?

Not sure.

None booked yet, but I'll let you know if we do.

The ticket in question was issued at 11:30, more of us may be in for a nasty surprise...

...not sure why none of the detectors went off?????

Strange.

And worrying...

Of course, the thing with laser is that it needs to be pointed AT you to hit the detector. Which, I hope, means I won't be receiving an envelope.

Did 'the victim' have a detector? (I seem to remember that he did).

He didn't have a detector, I sincerely hope we have escaped.....if no letter by the weekend I would suspect we are OK.

I think I was doing under the limit but you wonder about the accuracy of our speedos...

Do we know what the offending speed was? I think I was tucked in behind Asbi at that point, hope my post-it speedo was accurate enough....

74 in a 60

You were behind me at that point, I am sure that I was doing just under 60 as we approached the layby where the van was.

If you recall there were some cones next to the van which had narrowed the road somewhat.

Fingers and toes crossed, I need my licence to earn a living so this would not be good news....

What does that get you in the way of points/fines these days - standard 3/£60?

Well, Jon in the Ferrari got hit, too.

He was behind me and doing 69mph...

Feel for you, Kevin. Seeing as you managed to get picked off the last time you came and that occasion and this are the only ones I've known a camera to be about on that particular road...

Busted for 69 in a 60? Jeez that stinks.

The backlash is overdue ... civil disobedience anyone?

Funny thing is, as I passed the van, I had eased right off and thought -'That'll be OK, then'. Maybe 60-65 mph. Obviously not...

Of course, you can never be sure how far back along the road you were 'got', anyway.

Kevin, no - Jon didn't have a detector. Hope for us yet.
