any reason I should NOT buy this lift?
After much research, I am seriously considering this lift for my garage:
<a href="http://www.werther.com/auto/lifts/duplex.html" target="_blank">http://www.werther.com/auto/lifts/duplex.html</a>
Not a 4 post, not a 2 post, but a ONE post lift.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks.

This type of lift came up on the Pelican Parts board. You may want to search their archives.
I haven't heard anything bad or good about this lift, but I personally don't feel comfortable with a cantilevered lift. I *might* be okay with it if only used to temporarily lift a car for working on it. If you're going to store a car underneath a lifted car, I would only get a lift that has steel safety pins (or an equivalent mechanism) that will hold the top car in place in case of hydraulic failure.

Drew,
Thanks for the reply. I will hop over to Pelican and take a look.
I'm sure this is designed properly, but it just looks like an accident waiting to happen!
4 post is a no brainer, just takes up a bit of floor space, 2 post is not my first choice for long term storage (don't want to unload my suspension for 6 months of winter storage), so this seemed ideal.
Have a nice weekend.
