Hi,
'90 tiptronic, and the speedo is starting to get erratic. Sometimes the needle jumps around, stops altogether, then starts again and is fine for a while. Whe it stops working, so does the OBC speed readout and the rear spoiler activation. Could it be the speed sensor, or maybe the speedo itself?

Might be as simple as the connector on the back of the speedo head.

If you carefully pull out the speedo and break/remake the connection on the back, it might help.

 

90% guaranteed to be the speedo.
If you hit 115kph (72mph) as measured by your right wheel sensor the rear spoiler will open. Only available on 89 C4s and 90 C2s and C4s.

thanks for that. Can you explain what you mean by hit 72 mph? Thought it triggered at 50mph?
