OK, Ive asked this on the 993 board (and searched)and no one could answer me. I want to change my steering wheel to a non airbag type, but want to keep my passenger side airbag working. I know Porsche has a jumper tool to fool the module so as not to turn on the airbag light, but it is now over $200.00. All I need to know is the resistance of this jumper (or the airbag itself) and I will make one. I'll be glad to post a do-how when I'm done. This resistor cant cost more than $5.00 at Radio Shack. Can anyone tell me the value?

It was $60 a year or two ago. Sure you have the right tool? If I remember correctly, its a 9516. Maybe it got caught up in the price increase last year, which really jerked some prices skywards.

I believe Joey Bagadonuts could speak on this one??
I am now the PROUD owner of his former airbag/horn contacts.
I seem to remember that he had some type of resistance in there so his light didn't come on and the passenger side would work just fine.
