As I posted about a month ago, I'm putting a new clutch in, as mine has started to slip (110000 kms old). Well, in fact it started slipping a month ago and now I'm close to gearshifting by engine sound like former Porsche pilot Jean Behra!!
I'd like to know if my C4 may have still the low-life DMF on. It's a Carrera 4, VIN: WPOZZZ96ZLS406055. I would consider to replace it too, in case.
No frightening sound or rattles by now indeed.
Thanks in advance for help

Dear Emanuele,
You have a 1990 C4 which means you have the old old DMF. The first one. C4s were never fitted with LUKs at the factory.
I would suspect you will have to replace your DMF. They normally are damaged when the clutch slips. It will depend on the inspection and checks carried out after the engine and transmission are split to determine this.
If you have the pennies handy I would change the DMF even if it is not damaged or fails the test. The cost of a DMF is almost the same as the labour costs to remove, split, re-assemble and re-install the engine/transmission assembly again,
Ciao,
Adrian
