Porsche Mechanic Needed in Boston , MA area
As a new owner of a 89 C4, I would love any mechanic referrals from 964 owners in the Boston, MA area.
My goal would be to find a mechanic who can/has successfully performed the full spectrum of work on 964's including periodic service and also (if ever needed) complete engine rebuilds.
Thanks for your input!

Based on personal experience I can confirm that EPE (European Performance Engineering) in Natick does excellent work, including street and track Porsches.
You may also want to check the local PCA region monthly magazine, Noreaster, for other shops that service the Porsche market; many of these independents also have a loyal cadre of customers.

When I bought my car, a friend who has had both an '88 Carrera and currently a '95 993 gave me a great tip: get to know Jerry Pellegrino at EPE in Natick. For me, they've done: suspension lowering, short-ratio gearbox, a chip, a variety of routine maintenance, and a bit of electrical gremlin-chasing. All for less (sometimes much less) than dealers, with real Porsche parts or well-advised upgrades. The final bill has NEVER been more than the quote.
The only issue you may have with EPE is fitting the car into their schedule. They're busy all the time, and have a number of race cars through the shop that can complicate things. One time I was too impatient to wait 2 weeks for them to get to my failed DMF so I took it to a dealer. It was expensive haste that I've never repeated.
FYI - the short walk from their shop to the Natick commuter rail stop is a great bonus. I've found that anything you can do to keep your wife/other out of these pictures is well worth it.
Good luck!

Kevin at Randolph Racing is also excellent. I have also had some work done at EPE. You can e-mail me privately for more info.
