Talking Rear Storage Unit

Hi,

Any one have one they would like to sell. Would love to have one in blue, black or both. Or know of a source that might have some. Thanks

The parts should still be available through Porsche, if you can't find it in the used market.

I have an extra Factory RS America rear-seat stowage bins/parcel shelf (with doors). It came out of a 93 RSA due to the installation of a roll cage. It is covered in black carpet and is in mint condition.

The shelf is for sale for $450, exclusive of shipping costs. If your interested, give me a call in West Palm Beach, Florida at 561-682-4123 (days) or send an e-mail to adamweinstein@paxson.com.

Best regards, Adam.

Looks like a good business op for somebody, assuming enough people want to replace their rear seats with these things. Now available for $700 in black only (or for only $450 from Adam, but he only has one). There must be hundreds of these things sitting in the garages of RSA owners; -all of them black, of course. They are simple wooden things (minumum hardware), have simple hinged parcel doors on each side, and are covered in a light-weight carpet material; -held in place by big staples. One could use an existing shelf as a template to build dozens more, and they could be covered with any color/style carpet one wanted. Porsche probably spent less than $50 each in materials and labor to build these origionally, and they sell for $700 used now? Only $500 if you send them your seats, but the seats should be worth a lot more than the wooden shelf. They're probably selling the seats to RSA owners for $700 in exchange for their shelfs. That sounds like a Dr. Zeus story.

Adam: I don't mean to hinder your marketing yours, but you might consider saving yours as a template to build and sell even more, since this seems to be a developing fad (like the RS pull-strap door panels). I would have sold mine for $100 5 years ago, but I keep the OE parts I remove for the next owner.
