Green Traction Activated Lamp C4 only
This question is for the C4 owners only.
How many have ever noticed that the "green traction control activated" lamp on the main instrument warning cluster actually works. This lamp is below and slightly to the left of the PDAS Warn Lamp. Does it even light up when ignition is turned on but not to start.
So far I have one person claiming this lamp works. According to the wiring diagrams this lamp is hooked up. It does not work on my C4 and all others I have contacted directly, all say theirs does not work either.
According to the Manuals this lamp should illuminate when the traction control system is activated for any reason. Signal is supplied direct from the PDAS/ABS Unit through a set of relay contacts. There is also no mention of this in MY owners manual.
Ciao,
Adrian

From the data which has come in privately to my question is as follows.
Porsche wired up the system but did not install the light bulbs. They installed a blanking cover instead. A couple of 964 C4 owners have removed this blanking plug, installed the light bulb and the green light flashes just like the yellow led by the traction control **** does whne the traction control is activated.
I suspect that this flashing light was disconnected for some legal reason rather than anything else.
It is there, if you install a bulb it should work.
I will not bother, I do not like flashing lights in front of my eyes, especially at night,

Burning Brakes
I added a bulb to mine prior to doing a centre console delete, moved all the buttons to the dash.
It actually comes on quite a lot when driving.
The roads in the UK are not the best, so any potholes or change in surface, sets off the traction lamp.
My C4 is a 1990 registered 1st October 1989, ROW car.
This might have something to do with why my car has the contacts in the gauge for this...

Retried it and apparently, I used a broken connector in the first place; now everything works as desired!

I have an ‘89 ROW, K series. My green light comes on when I hit a bump or I ride over an uneven surface. It is somewhat entertaining and adds to the quirkiness of a classic!
