Change steering wheel C2 1992
I´m at the point in my project where it is time to change steeringwheel. The old one is going out out, an original airbag wheel. And the new one is (a original airbag wheel as well in another colour) is going in. Both are airbag wheels, does anyone have experince of changin wheels? Tips & Tricks. Prefer not ta have a airbag in my face at that point.

Felix,
Here's the approximate steps.
Here's the approximate steps.
- First, disconnect your battery. Wait at least 20 minutes (there was a software change along the way that reduced that time). Being the cautious type with incendiary devices, I waited longer than 20 minutes.

- Center the steering wheel.

- Use a #30 torx socket to undo the two bolts behind the steering wheel. Pull off the airbag unit, which unplugs from the airbag starter.

- Use a 23mm-27mm socket (sorry, don't recall which one in that range) to undo the steering wheel. Before undoing the nut holding the steering wheel in, I like to mark it (paint, fingernail polish) so I know where the nut was originally positioned. The nut can be hard to turn. Note: do not use the steering wheel lock to hold the steering wheel as you undo the nut - get a friend or use one hand to hold the wheel and one hand to undo the nut.

- As they say, installation is the reverse. Tighten the steering wheel nut to 45 nm/33 ft lbs.
