Post Radar Detector & Porsche Windshields

Just purchased a new Escort Radar Detector and the manual warns against attaching the suction cups on some Porsche windshields. It points out that some windshields have a coating on the inside that will become marred from their use. I have a 1990 C2, does anyone have any experience with this?

I have a Valentine One and it works just fine in my '91 C2 Targa. I have it suction cupped below the mirror. In this position, I get front and rear visibility.

The problem windows are the ones with the low-E coating that filters out a bunch of energy.

I have a Valentin 1 have have used it for 10 years with no marks on the windshield. I think you will be fine to go ahead.

I had the same worries with a '92 C2 - just velcroed the snooper to the dash, works great. It has slowed me down a tad, however,as it bleeps even if a camera isn't active....a contribution to road safety?!?!?

Excellent, thanks for all of the quick responses. I will stick it to the windshield.

your only problem will be that you have the escort instead of the V1.i know it costs more, but believe me its worth it.

You may want to consider testing it side by side with a V1, and returning the loser...I believe you have 30 days to return them.

On a side note, if you are looking to keep the Escort and are interested in the 8500, mine is for sale if you are interested...PM me if you have any interest.

Seems to be some loyal Valentine 1 users, my Escort is beyond the 30 day window. I have it stuck to the windshield of my Trooper. I've been all over Pennsylvania with it and it's served me well. Thanks for the feedback.
