Question Guage Replacement - Test?

Can anyboday help me ?

My Oil Pressure / Diagnostics display guage has started to blister pretty badly over the illuminated areas, I made some enquiries about getting the guage refurbed but thought it was quite expensive....anyway last weekend I managed to get a secondhand unit for £25 seems to be in as new condition.

So...I was planning on a simple swap, my question though is How can I test the operation of all the warning lights when Ive installed it ?

Any ideas ?

Thanks

I thought all the warning lights came on when you switch the ignition on (before starting the car).

Don't you just need to do that, or have I misunderstood?

Odd !...they dont ALL come on at all....so maybe some of the bulbs have gone ...or....maybe they are not all supposed to come on.

The ones that dont illuminate are the "Check Engine" one ( bottom left)and all four lamps at the top under the main "!" lamp.

Any ideas ?

Hi,
Check engine won't come on for UK 964s.

Of the top 4 lights, the two on the right (one red, one green) are warning lights for AWD which you obviously don't have on a C2, hence they won't come on (the green one isn't even wired up on C4s).
The next one on the left doesn't come on - never figured out what it is, but it has an up / down arrow by the bottom of the car almost like it's adjustable suspension. Anyway, ignore it.
The one on the far left looks like a blank on mine - and doesn't come on.

When I said "All" above, I really meant All the ones related to your car which is not necessarily all the ones in the gauge.
