Hi,
Does Cyntex have a website? Or otherwise would be really grateful if you could let me have his email. Have a RUF chip but I was wondering is Paul could do a chip just for my mods done.

Someone has Cyntex's info. handy I'm sure...I'm at work and consequently don't keep it handy...you should see the "yellow stickies" strategically placed about the hutch for my desk at home!!
Keep in mind, if you do have a handful of "mods" to your drivetrain, best you get a chip that's burned with YOUR car on the dyno, it's about the only way for a "Tuner" to be accurate with their initial settings and to find the best settings in the end to burn onto your chip.
My engine is all stock, except for drilled airbox and a "Euro-premuffler" in place of the catalytic converter and a secondary bypass...and the oh so feared LWF!
...the fellow Rennlister I refered to basically had the same setup, so I thought I'd try his chip...it seems to wake up the car quite a bit.
...and it runs better, no stalling. <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

I have seem that some of you have RUF chips, I have just purchased one but haven´t install it yet, I would like your opinions on it.

His # is (610)738-8804, located in Pennsylvania...not affiliated, yadi yadi yadi. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
He is heralded as one of the finest "tuners" on the Eastern Seaboard.
He prepared the two Minis that will be running in the Grand American Cup Series this year...kinda neat, added 20-30HP or so to those little things just through "tuning".

Strabo, no negative effects noticed on engine, temps or anything.

I believe he has a Mustang dyno, and from what I know, that is NOT incorporate a "rolling road" scenario.
I'm sure he could still help you out, he may have a rolling road setup as well, but I'm quite certain that he has a Mustang dyno.

I have not experienced increased engine temperatures since installing my chip, either. I took my car to the track last weekend, which is a good 200-mile roundtrip, and saw no changes. My car was actually running cooler than the week prior (before the chip), but I believe that was due primarily to a recent oil change and cooler temps, ~60 degrees.
Why do you ask? Have you heard this might happen?

The 3.6 liter motor in the 964 seems to have just barely sufficient engine cooling capacity, and top end wear (valves, guides, etc.) is not uncommon. If the engine management chip is changed to allow the motor to produce more power, it seems likely that the engine would produce more heat and might run hotter.
But it looks like that's not a problem. That's great.

Honestly, you're lucky if a chip yields 10-12HP...this is not going to generate anymore heat. A chip just "optimizes" fuel flow at certain positions of the throttle/barn door sensor and smooths out the powerband, usually moving a bit of HP to the upper end.
I have noticed a nice little increase via the "butt-dyno", but it's not phenomenal or anything...what is phenomenal is the deal I got on the chip!
Again, this was USED chip from a fellow Rennlister...do NOT expect chip burners to offer you a deal, it's not likely they will.

The car idles smoother at startup, hasn't stalled on me yet (the dreaded LWF issue) and provided a noticeable increase in acceleration on the "Butt Dyno", even my girlyfriend noticed!

OK, not really, since I'm just a little older than you are.
My RSA is on its second chip, due to extensive head work. I've been happy with both, and there is a definite, noticeable improvement.

Read the post "Chip from Cyntex" and see what
the OBJECTIVE view is about chips.
Then put your car on a dyno for "real" numbers
and don't provide subjective claims to others.
Don't let owners waist time and money on mods
which are questionable. This site is not like
the Pelican Parts site or it shouldn't be.
