Thanks a lot guys for the replys! I'll follow your advice and go with the axxis metal master pads! Sorry for my late reply!

BTW brake squeal is a pain and I'm entirely on the side of those who feel the same. To Mr Linton, I don't at all think that brake squeal is part of a symphony, but maybe you're a fan of Karklheinz Stockhausen, in this case I would undesrtand your quote.

Cheers THOMAS

Bill is right about the source of brake squeal; it's caused by fine, high freq vibration. Maybe I've just been lucky, but none of my PF 90 compound pads have squeaked. Whatever track pads were on the car when I bought it did squeak, and I didn't appreciate it at all.

I haven't bought Metal Masters for years, but years ago they were by Repco, then the name changes started.

"I could fill a room with people who think a Porsche engine is annoying"

Robert...these are loosly spoken words...blasphemous to boot. I defy you to find even a small assembly of reasonably normal people that find the sound of a screaming German flat-six anything less than euphoric. I refuse to believe your statement!

You can believe it, Mike. In 1994, Hans Zumveldt, after a world-wide search, was able to find enough to fill a small bathroom. I think it was 9 people.

Has anyone ever heard the sound of the Subara WRX flat six in their commercials? Man, I wish I could find a muffler that would make my car sound like that.

Joey

as far as I Know A subaru WRX (Impreza)has a flat-four cyl. engine. You're quite right in saying that they sound great, but only when they have a sport exhaust (most of the time Sebring or Remus)bolted on.

Do you want your engine to make a deep sound?
1) Put a bypass tube on your exhaust, not the cup pipe since the sound is a bit higher than with the bypass tube (FYI I have the cup pipe) (have a look on www.FVD.de or Techart Site).
2)Drill some holes in your air filter housing and voilà.

BTW the bypass tube will save you a lot of weight and the tube itself is quite unexpensive.

You will no longer be listening the the Subaru Impreza WRX.

Cheers Thomas
