No Electrical Power
Just retrieved my c4 from the shop yesterday. Had a new clutch and flywheel put in. Car ran great yesterday. Got is this morning and there is no electrical.
Checked the battery cables, but they were ok Somewhat new to Porsches--any ideas-not sure where the starter moter is, or would have checked that connection.
Thanks <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Not sure if you tried jump starting, yet. Also, do the lights come on as you enter the vehicle? If not, your battery's "flat" or as we like to say here in the States, dead.
After a full charge (you don't want to tax the alternator with that kind of duty) make sure all the lights are off as you shut down. Sometimes the shop will set the interior lights to the "alway on" position so make sure they're in the level position. Hope it's as simple as that.

Dear Mike,
Sounds like they forgot to hook up the alternator properly. First check is to grab a multimeter and check the battery voltage. Then start the 964 and check it again at idle. The voltage with engine off should be in excess of 12VDC and with engine at idle 13.8VDC. If the voltages match then they forgot to hook up the alternator. Often the blue wire.

Thanks for your replies.
The battery was dead, jumpstarted it to get it back to the shop. Guess they hooked up the alternator or it wouldn't have made the trip. They are letting it sit for the night-looks like maybe a flasher relay

Ooh, that reminds me. I noticed if you leave the flasher on after you shut down, it remains on. Just another little "quirk" to be conscience of.
Good luck on the solution. I know it's a drag when your p-car doesn't respond to a turn of the key, but it'll come.
