Hi Rob
A few years ago I investigated importing and distributing Colgan Bras - what a name, one of the reasons I didn't! Our research suggested that they are probably the best of their product type.

You can buy direct form Colgan and they will custom delete, at extra cost, holes such as one for license plate, fog light etc. if that is your pleasure.
The following applies to my experience with a Colgan on my '90 C2 (US Spec).
It must be warm (>75 deg F) the first time it is fitted or it will NOT be fun, and may not fit properly.
I did my initial fitting on a sunny 60 degree day, and was unable to fit the hood section to my satisfaction (even after letting the bra sit in the sun for a while). It does go on, but does not fit as snuggly as I would prefer.
I do not use it daily, but recently refitted it for a long trip on a >90 deg F day, and it went on much easier.
The instructions discuss adding a pair or washers to the hood latch mechanism. Until I installed those, I could not get the latch to close (this was during my initial install).
The problem is, when the bra is NOT on, the hood will not close tightly when the washers are installed.
Since I only use the bra for trips, I removed the washers until the next fitting. On a whim, when I refitted on the hot day, I did NOT install the washers, and the hood latched properly......I assume with the heat comes additional flexibility of the vinyl.
Good luck.

Howdy gang,
I bought the OEM Porsche bra, and use it regularly, but generally only for long trips or track events. My car is black, and so stone chips show a nice, bright white.
The bra IS, definitely, a PITA to fit and remove. After some practice, I have gotten it down to an installation/removal time of 10-15 minutes, depending on how energetic (or late) I am.
Is it worth it? Don't really know. All I know is that I have 2 nasty little stone chips on the hood now (above the bra line), and I sure don't want any more.
The bra certainly does not improve the looks, but it might save the paint in the long run.
Important points: always remove the bra if it gets wet, and always clean it before re-installation. The underside is felt, and easily traps little bits of grit and dirt that can act like sandpaper against the paint.
Hope this helps your decision...

Hi Guys
Thanks for the advice, i think i am going to order 1. I know it seems like a PITA but if it will stop the ever increasing number of stone chips on my hood and bumpber its worth the effort.
Thanks to Gus who replied privatly on the magtec system, these look a better idea but do not protect the bumper and headlight area which are especially sensative.
I will try to install on a sunny day, but in the UK they are few and far between, as i only do a couple of trip to Europe each year i am sure it will be worth it.
Regards and Thanks
