Glen I'm sure,is correct about the 964,993, and GT3 being interchangeable. However the 964 C4 uses a smaller cv joint on the trans end with 8mm bolts instead of the 10mm bolts on the other cars

Dan,
Yeah, I heard that today too. So I didn't get the C4 driveshaft, but they were a great deal at $200 each.

Just an update to this thread. I had an opportunity to compare a set of original Carrera Cup axles (racing part) 964.332.024.70 to a set of normal Carrera 2 axles 964.332.024.08 . They are identical in every respect with a very minor detail difference. The Cup part has a sort of roll pin stuck inside the center bore of the stub axle, maybe to limit the amount of goo that can escape? The normal part can easily be modified with the roll pin if so desired. All other dimensions are the same, including the threaded part for the main axle nut.

I was thinking about what kind of spares it might be a good idea to have on hand for the upcoming racing season.
We are seeing bearing failures in track usage, and I'm told, fwiw, that the currently available bearing don't last as long as the originals. We've also seen a few broken rear hubs. However, it's not clear if they broke because of vibrations from a bad rear bearing or some other reason. I know of one 964 racer who carries spare bearings, spare RS nuts, a spare axle, and a spare hub. Consider Loctite on the axle nuts, too.
