I think you're gonna havta try to track the wires (if any) from the switch. Maybe a PO started an ejector seat project and just never finished it.

On my C2 it's the intensive washer, don't really use it though!!

Hi there,

As far as I know (supported by my Owners Manual) it is the switch for the Intensive Washer system.

My car does not have the system installed, and was therefore originally delivered without the switch. I have cut away the vinyl that covers the hole and installed a switch which is useed for the remote control for my garage door.

The funny thing is that I replaced this tank and cap when I bought the car since the @##$ cap was frozen/stuck to the tank... did not care or took the time to read what the frigging cap had on top. I thought it was the hi pressure water tank for the headlights... learn something everyday...

Here's the update... I finally got around to investigating the wires connected to the switch. The switch has a 911 part number stamped on it and It appears to be part of the phone wiring that my car was originally delivered with. The switch is connected to two green wires that lead under the dash and behind the center consol. I looked through the center consol access panel and found that the wires terminate at what appears to be the old phone connection. There was a relay and a few other electrical connections back there. Mystery Solved!

Does anyone know what the factory phone wiring consisted of? I'd like to remove most of it, but I don't want to accidentally tear into something else.
