I got rid of the undercarpets to do a bit of weightsaving
But now my floor is uneven (where I put my feet)
How did you guys solve this ?

I made myself a plywood floor board (using 5/32" - something smaller than 1/4" thickness), painted it, put a brace on it so it stays flat, and it fit great and looked great. But, with size 12 shoes, I actually prefer it out because it gives me more foot and knee room - with the board in place my knee is very close to the shifter which is annoying. And my toes hit the under dash area when moving from gas to brake pedal. For some reason I don't notice this in my Cabrio, but in the coupe that's stripped out I like it better with nothing on the floor. Must be something with how the racing seat has me positioned. I just had to tape the harness on the floor so I don't step on it when going in and out of the car.
If you have short legs and smaller shoes, plywood would probably work great - I'll take a pic of it later today if you want.

Yeah, the carpet is lighter, but it's the heavy padding with the plastic coating on it that weighs a bunch!!!
weight scale: carpet < plywood contraption < sound padding
