Default Squeaky heater fan.

When I run the heat, I notice a rather high-pitched squeak eminating from the ducts. Where is the heater blower motor located? Is it easy to get to and replace or is it a major project? Is there anything service wise I can do to aleviate this vs. replacement?

Thank you. It sounds like one of those jobs that's scary to tackle until you've done it once and then it's cake. I'll probably give it a go.

It depend which side it is. I had the same problem, and it was my RHS (i.e. driver side in the UK) fan that squeaked. This was actually easier to get to than it sounds. The fuse board had to be moved out the way, and the fuse box removed, firewall taken out and then - voila - access to the heater fan. Took about an hour to get to it, lubricate it and put it back together.

But I think the other side is much harder to get to.

I had the same problem. My auto-electrician lubed the bearings on both fan motors and hey presto! fixed!
