Question Newbie Porsche owner

Hi to all you experts and addicts out there!. I am an older guy in New Zealand ( in the South Pacific, not Europe) who has just acquired his 1st Porsche, a '92 964 Coupe Tip. in Pebble Grey with black. I have had a number of my questions answered just by reading these pages, thanks!
I have uploaded a photo of my car but I am PC illiterate, so I am not sure if it will find its way to the place beside my msg.
First question: can anyone confirm that Pebble Grey is the Porsche name for this colour? I saw it mentioned against an identical car in this forum.
2nd question: I need a replacement for the little buzzy fan motor that draws air past the CCU sensor in the dash. In my car its the loudest noise in the car up to 100kph! Does anyone have a (quiet) used onethey will sell? If not who are the best used parts people for overseas shipping?
3rd Question: My car has a jack and jack handle but no tool wallet/contents. What does the complete 964 kit contain? I see from the handbook (owners manual) there should be a crank and drive adapter to raise the windows if the power fails.

Comment: The owners manual is a fairly basic item ( but expensive, from my OPC) for such a prestige marque!

Hi Mike!

Congratulations on your new purchase! I've had mine for just about a year and I still enjoy driving it as much if not more than when I first bought it which I didn't think was possible!

While I can't help you with any of your questions I can try to help you with your photo upload. Are you trying to include a photo in your post or underneath your name - where it says Rennlist Member? If you are trying to get a photo by your name please email me your photo to jmunson@rennlist.net and I'll take care of it for you!

Congratulations!!

Welcome Mike!

'Pebble Grey' is the US name for 'Stone Grey' or 'Steingrau', paint code L693.

Here's an example of how your tool kit shouldn't look

Hi. Not many kiwi 'listers..welcome.

Its nice to have the toolkit, and you can pick them up from the independent suppliers/e-bay, but I would say the screw-in towing eye and jack/wheelbrace are the only essentials. The spacesaver needs a (17mm?) spanner to release it.
You will also need a means of inflating your spacesaver - the cars should come with a 12v compressor, but not always in rude health when you come to use them..

I think the cars also originally came with spare belts, plastic sheeting and gloves. A warning triangle went in the pocket in the moquette in Europe. These come up on e-bay, too, for inflated amounts.

Thanks Johnny,

I knew about the tyre pump requirement (missing when I got the car, but already acquired) but I would like to have a full tool kit even if I never use it!

I have been a used car dealer and former new/used Mercedes salesman for 27 years, so I'm familiar with your other cars. I have warning triangles for Africa, for all the German marques!

Cheers
Mike

David,

Thanks. the photo was a good idea! Can I trouble you to confirm the original items? I assume the jump start cables and the yellow handled screwdriver are not Porsche items? So there is a wheel brace and
(l. to r.) alternative srewdriver blade, ring spanner (double ended?), towing eye, long rod?? crank for?? open end spanner (double ended?) elect window/sunroof emergency crank? another tool for sunroof? screwdiver with detachable blade.

Sorry to be pedantic.

Default Pics of 964 C2

Hi Arjan,

I'noticed from previous threads that you are very keen on photos. Here are a few more, but there is nothing out-of-the-ordinary about my car, except that it was first registered in Japan. There they drive on the left, like UK, Australia and NZ and a few other places around the world.

Cheers,

Mike

Here's a full kit, with thanks to ex-owner Riccardo.

(BTW my Merc is in Anthracite over black leather, rare for a w123? She's 20, and goes like a dream..have MB lost their way?)

Slate Grey Metallic is the name. My cabrio is that color - at least that's what they call it in the US.

Yup, that's definitely slate and not stone/pebble/stein!

My toolkit is a mess - I'd use Johnny's as a reference

This is what I have in my tool kit...

And a set of reflective triangles that are stored in a pocket in the carpet... (and the jack of course)
