Default Kumho - Pressures

What pressures are guys running on their Kumho Ecstas? I have just fitted some, 205/225s on Design 90s, and I have them at std pressures on stock suspension. Anyone tried them at another setting?

I would take a 2,5 bars front and a 2,8 rear. This what I use on de 16 wheels in the winter, not much different then the 17" cup wheels in the summer.

Chris,

When you say standard pressure, do you mean 36/44PSI (sorry, not sure what they equates to in bar)? And you have 16" wheels, correct? And is there a problem you are hoping to address with a pressure change?

In any event, the door jam sticker for my car suggests 36/44, but really, 44 PSI in the back is way to stiff for me in normal driving.

My experience may not match yours, as my road set-up has Ecsta Supras (712s) on 17" MM Cup 1's (205 fr, 255r). The factory suggests 36 PSI front and back for 17" wheels, but I would tend to follow that with 16" wheels as well.

Cheers,

BGL

0.14504 PSI = .01 bar = 1 Kpa

44 PSI = 3.03 bar
36 PSI = 2.48 bar

I think!

Thanks for the reply. I was really just floating the question as I don't have alot of experience with tyres and different pressures. I know what the Porsche recommend but was interested if anyone had found slightly better settings. It does seem that 44 at the back is extremely high, so I think I might try dropping them a little and see if there is a difference.

Regards

Good link, Steve, but it's not clear which Ecsta's Chris purchased. The link you included covers the care and feeding of the Ecsta V700, which is an R-compound competition tire. Kumho also makes the Ecsta: MX, ASX, Supra, KH11, 711 and HP4. I would say these "street" versions can run at 36f and 36-44r but the V700's should start at 26f/28r cold.
