Not much chance of those wheels hitting anything on the car

(only joking)

What colour is that? Matches (parts of) mine.

HI Christer,
No problem, I wasn't offended , I thought it was a joke, however the car does look much higher in the first picture.
The color off the Sticker is:
L83E Himbeerrot Metallic (Raspberry Red) Paint to sample $2498.
It is Raspberry Red.
It looks just like the first picture at night or at dusk
and just like the second photo in the daylight ,It changes color with differant lights, In bright lights the silver metallic seems to make it much brighter, and in lower light it has a gold metallic undercoat look to it, with more of a mauve tint

Regards
Randal

Wow.

The front looks about right for a stock US spec car, but the back looks way too high.

IMHO, of course.

HI David

It looks just like the photos above , it just looks differant in differant light.
I really like the color it is a very unique car, the last porsche I just sold was Guards RED. I like this much better,Porsche does a great job with the paint they put on their vehicles, and I have never seen myself coming at me. The only other car I have seen this color was a 95 968

I'd always assumed 'paint to sample' meant the factory would match whatever you bought in - there's what I guess is an old story about an owner matching his 911 to the colour of his dog - I wonder whether the fact you saw another means the color came from another manufacturer's chart? Can't think of anyone other than Porsche who would make a color like this. Whatever, it looks great! My car needs a complete respray and half the time I'm thinking conservatively and want the car perfectly original (stone/pebble grey), the other half I think if I'm spending the money I may as well have my 'perfect' 911 and go for something that to me symbolises the 911 - viper green or tangerine orange! Now I have to throw Raspberry Red into the mix!

HI David

No the color is a Porsche option, and a Porsche developed color. The 968 I saw was the exact same paint. I have also bought touch up paint from the Porsche option code from an after market paint place. the code From the Sticker is:L83E Himbeerrot Metallic (Raspberry Red) Paint to sample $2498.

I was told by one who works for Porsche that is was offered from 1992 till 95.
The paint in person has a very beautiful metallic look to it, very tiny flakes like the Silver color used by Porsche. That has always been one of my favorite colors on a Porsche. and they have the nicest looking silver paint..IMHO.. of any car mfg.

Default 18" wheels

Ok,
Who out there has put 18" wheels on their cars? Do they look too big for the wheel well? How about issues with clearance and the need for steering stops? If you have any pics that would be great.

"who has put 18 inch wheels on their car"

I have, didn't like them as well as the 17 inch ones. In my opinion the 16s look small ,the 18 look big, and ride hard
I have been told you can only run 7 inch fronts and 9 inch rears, without adding stops to the front and in danger of rubbing thru the oil line in the rear
I have settled on 225-45 17 fronts with 7 inch rims and
255-40 17 rears with 9 inch rims.

I have 18's but no pics on this computer. I don't think they ride hard but make sure you get some light wheels - avoid the heavy ones...
