I want this as well and have toyed with it for a long time. It seems too expensive though and I've still not taken the plunge. If you purchase please give a full review!

Default I saw that one too, too expensive..

for a simple plastic holder. I thought there would be a better option out there. These guys can't be the only ones out there making this product..can they?? I have checked all the big Porsche parts sites to no avail....

You crazy Americans always in a rush, take your time in the morning and have a decent coffee at the local Starbucks......

You save money for the cup holder and you meet nice people or read a news paper.

Type 911 sell either a cup holder or a general bin replacement, cup holders are £50, or £54 in leather. Genral bin preplacement is £20 in black.

I'm going for the general bin, as i just want to get rid of the tape holder, rather than actually keeping drinks there, as i find the area awkward to get to anyway, and the door bins are pretty good for keeping drinks in IMO.
No affiliation etc - just keen to make a minor change for what i think is a surprisingly good update for the car's interior - it looks modern from the o/s and typically 911 'dateless' inside, bar the tape holder!

VW Passat Cupholders Clips to the side of the center console with no screws. Do search on 993 board for pictures. Cost is abouth $30.

Hmm, just a quick question, did the 964s come with the tape holder? When I bought mine it had the little storage bin and I just figured that was stock.

I think even 993s came with the cassette holder - '89 964s definitely did.

My 91 car doesn't have a cassette holder, just the storage bin.

I've got a dual cup holder that fits into the storage bin (that replaces the worthless cassette holder). I think it came from Bird Automotive. It's ok but an awkward reach. I have one that screws to the side of the tunnel too and my wife likes it better but it's more of a stretch for the driver to use.

I bought a cup holder designed by a fellow Rennlister. IMO it's the best design for the 964 (No affiliations, bla, bla, bla,........). Here's a link to he's page and a picture from he's ad. http://www.inventivaconcepts.com/air-1.html

Peter, I bought the same one when we did the group buy and its well made and has worked flawlessly so far. I still would prefer the one that goes in the center console and can hold 2 cups however. I just dont wanna pay $80-90 plus shipping for it!

Howard, I did look into the center console one but had thought the design limits the size of cups/mugs that can be used. But I could be wrong since I've not seen one in person.

Peter, good point that needed to be made: The holder we both have courtesy of inventia concepts is very wide and accommodates everything from coffee cups to large sports bottles/water etc.! A VERY good reason to invest in one IMO!
