Default heater fan squeek

I have noticed a squeeking noise coming from the heating/cooling vents especially when the fan speed **** is set at low speeds. Two questions: 1. can you lube these fan motors somehow? 2. How do you get access to them, where are they? Seems to only be coming from the right side? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Steven

Its a big job but you can replace it. It seems that any attempt to lubricate it will only provide temporary relief (if any).

My squeak was on the left side. I ordered the part (aprox $150) and installed it myself with some help and guidance of the members of Rennlist.

It took about three hours, if I had to do it again I think I could do it in an hour or so. Also, the right side is easier as I recall.

It's a very common problem and fixing it will prevent you from going crazy. Mine was unbearable at fan speeds one and two.

Hope this helps

Steven,

I replaced the entire fan. I have a document with the instructions, send me a PM with your email address.
