Need Secondary Muffler and bracket
Hi.. On my 1990 Cab. I have had it with the noise of my "G" Pipe that had been put in place of the secondary muffler, so I am going to replace it with a muffler. My questions of the group are: Are there different secondary mufflers to use? and: There is a bracket missing from my car to hold the secondary muffler. It is located near the front of the muffler. Does anyone have the part number, or better yet the bracket lying around they would like to get rid of?
Thanks for any advice in this regard.

You really need a PET diagram to understand this. The secondary muffler "hangs" by two nuts behind the right rear shock. You need to reach around the back of the rotor to feel the bolts.
That's where most of the weight is carried. The rest of the piece is held up by it's connection to the primary muffler. There's no bracket of which I am aware.
Clear as mud? Anyone have a diagram or picture?

You have the right bracket flagged in the schematic. This mounts to the housing/cover of the power steering belt/cam drive gear. Also required are the spacers (14 and 14a) which I think I remember go inside the cover for the ps belt. I might have these in the garage--let me check later.

I thank you all for the replies. I will look for a muffler and the bracket needed, used if possible, on ebay . If you do have the spacers, Bob, I would buy them from you. In any case, I now know what to get and install. Thanks.

There was a muffler on Pelican Parts for $50 I saw yesterday - do a search...
PS I could not tolerate the G-pipe on my cabrio either! It lasted 2 minutes, and about 4 blocks before it was removed.

Its funny how small the internet is. The muffler on Pelican I think is mine and I think I have the bracket too. If you really want sound put a 993 exhaust on it with supercups. Now that is loud!

It took some digging, but I have found the bracket, spacers, hardware, and even the 2ndary muffler. Let me know what you need and lets work out a fair price offline.
