Oil Pressure
A quick question about oil pressure:
When car is cold the pressure gauge sits at over the "3" mark at idle, after she has warmed up (temp @ 8-9 O'clock) the pressure is steady at "1" is this the norm?

Sounds about right. The main thing is that your oil pressure increases with RPM.. A few factors are gauge calibration and the integrity of the electrical connections to and from the sender. Also the condition of the sender itself..
No worries..

Not to mention the viscoucity of the oil. The thicker the oil, the higher the pressure. At idle, and warm as you described, my car typically reads between 1.5 and 2 at idle, but I'm running Mobil 1 15W-50, which is a thick oil.

There will be other threads in the archives as I seem to remember that this has been discussed at length before. However, I can give you my values although they are post-rebuild, and read 4+ when cold and just under 2 when the temp is at the 8'oclock mark. Before rebuild, it would read just over 1 at the same temp...I think the consensus last time was that as long as your oil pressure is pinned to the max when you accelerate, and you don't get any oil pressure light, then that is OK. It does vary between cars.
