Default clutch & flywheel cost

DAve - thx much however I am having some problems w/ search in finding what I need. I am trying to get a handle on how much it would cost to replace the clutch and flywheel on a '92 964 c2. I am looking to track the car and keep my 993 as my daily. So far I have been able to get a quote here in SLC for $2300 (luke flywheel and sacks? clutch). This seems a little rich since I just had a new LWF and clutch put on my 993, rear main seal replaced and oil changed for $2900 in Denver. Just need a little color if possible.

thanks a lot!

A c4 clutch was quoted as $1800 in a recent post. It seems C2 clutches are not much cheaper - so I'd guess you would be looking at about $1500 for the clutch alone. In the UK, an LUK flywheel is about £500 I think - that equates to about $750 (although the price in the US probably is not a straight conversion with the exchange rate). But my guess is $2300 might be about right. Someone in the US can probably give you a definite answer.

It's probably the case that if you've got the gearbox apart for the clutch / flywheel then main seal / oil change doesn't affect the cost that much.

I just paid $3k in the Northern Virginia area for new LUK, clutch, shift fork, fork shaft & bearings, (updated) guide tube, new rear main seal & oil change - $2k parts, $1k labor. '90 C2.

I just finished getting a lightweight flywheel & RS clutch put on my C2, the parts were $1,300 and the labor was $1,000 (including putting on a slave cylinder as well).
