Very sorry, Rob. Really aggravating.

I've got to think that some perverted minds get a kick out of doing such things because it's a Porsche. A little sick.

I can't even think of any smart remarks, though Graham's list of antitheft devices is wonderful!

Good luck.

I'm pissed off for you Rob. Why do these Bastards have to destroy half the dashboard at the same time!?

Hope things work out for you. I've fallen out of the habit of removing the faceplate on my head unit, your experience has served as a timely reminder....

Thanks all!

Update; cost to me, even if I claim on insurance is £600 (3 lots of insurance xs)

Faceplate - I still have it; in fact the police want to take fingerprints later today. Don't know if it works though, or if the unit itself is damaged.

Good news...the police think that the Navman system can be traced, (something to do with the gps system being able to track it).

I've had this happen to me before with a boat.... I live on the water, boat is less than 30' from my door with a light shining on it dusk to dawn.. I was out until 2am, all was fine when I returned home, then I got up at 5 and had been ripped off. I was very pi$$ed off. I never (or very rarely) leave anything in my cars and never lock it for this reason. I don't live in a city, but I do live in a resort area where people are around all the time. My car lives in the garage and heaven help any poor ba$tard I find in there. I worry most about getting keyed while I'm out.

Sorry to hear about this Rob.
I can't imagine what would be my feelings in that case...

Good luck with the insurance!

You're right - I tried to find that one but gave up and posted the other.

Rob

Sorry to hear about the damage. Hope the insurance company cough up quickly. We all live in fear of this happening at some stage.

Regards

Chris

What a hack thief. Could not even get the radio out. Trashing the car trying. What a waist.
