Guy's, sorry for the late reply, I was on a GM training for a couple of days.
Howard, no........ everyting is fine with the car, no problems at all. Just sometimes I have that feeling, having the car ready, no further wishes to improve, then I get bored sometimes and want a new project to do.......
I am completely happy with the car, the only thing that I want to do is do some work on the calipers, thats all on my list for now. If I buy a 1993 964 I can get one for 20000 Euro's. Someone offerd me almost 30.000 Euro's for the car, so.......10000 to spend for a year younger and the import duty/service. That's 12000 Us $.
I just want opinions on this, and I have a few good ones now, thanks for that.
On the question to buy a 2nd one next to this one, I can tell you that keeping this one on the road is already difficult sometimes, that's a hounest answer.
With all the insurance, road tax, fuel prices etc. and all the extra NON Porsche costs it's tricky.
I can tell you this, If I don't service the car my self, I can not afford a Porsche.........................
Thanks guys for the replies!

Oh yes, for the US people, I am Dutch, so we son't use credit cards a lot and have not as much people who finance their car as everywhere else in the world. I paid my car from our savings........... That makes a big difference how you handle things and buy things. The only thing we financed is the House.............
Sure, if a finance, I can afford a 996, but that fit's not in you attitude.............

Arjan, if she's all paid up then have you thought about getting an older Porsche as a 2nd project car? Personally I just love the older pre-'75 cars. Given your mechanical competence and love of working on the car and the fact that these older ones are easier to work on (and have cheaper parts) is this an option?

If you're not getting 993 or another 964 model (did someone say RS?!) then why would you "change" your car to another?
To get car with less miles and possibly more problems?
Man, wake up!

Yes I know........ I am already over it, the car is staying with us for the future. I told you before, we love the car and have no problems with her so far, just the newer Porsche you can afford, the better..............
