I think I have cabling issues ? Which is really weird if I may say so to be honest..... then again who knows

With seat out :

1) Connect the drill to the cable and check each of the mechanisms bringing the seats up and down individually and grease them up in interim - All work well !
2) Take out the motors or at least i disconnect the motors from the cabling add 9V and they work just fine in each direction ( by changing the polarity )
3) With everything connected the "black cables going into the motors ) I provide power to the motors and everything works
4) I move the seat back into the car feeling all good and hook everything up again .... only the front goes down and back goes up "but" !!!!!!! if I change the polarity at the motors while connected to the car guess what .... the opposite works back goes down and front goes up - with no resistance or anything !
5) So if the opposite works my seat switches can also be ruled out - ie they are working

Can anyone tell me what my brain is not connecting please Is there some issue with the cable providing power to the seat .......

Slowed down , re assessed and started again ....

Took all the parts apart again 1) The motors 2) The metal turning cords ( for the lack of better knowledge of what they are called ) 3) The electric switches ( the up and down buttons )
1) The Motors worked
2) The seat mechanism for going up and down seemed to work ( although a little slow I used grease to possible help out ? )
3) The switches seem to have been the problem. Although they felt fine and they clicked fine ( perfect actually ) didn't activate the motors when given power
4) Ordered new bolts and have arrived

Now I just have to put everything back .........

Final question : Would "stickiness" in the railing mechanism bringing the seat up and down ( in each four corners ) possibly ruin the switch over time with increased resistance ? So switching the switch may be a short term victory . Has anyone had to switch these seat corner mechanisms ?

Fo now all seems to be working before final install

If the seat switches are giving you problems (sometimes work and sometimes don't work) you may want to read this thread on how to repair them.

After what you have been through, I don't blame you. But if ever your switches give you any grief in the future, there are options in that thread that do not require dis-assembly. Hopefully you won't need it and are good to go.
