hi Tony, you posed a few questions about my cage , here are some of the answers.

Weight. Unknown but will do an engineering estimate based on weight of one of the detachable bars multiplied up by total length of tubing. Probably going to be not less than the figure you quoted for SD full cage. There's so much stuff its hard to crawl in and out.

Part welded ( saddle plates) and mainly bolted . Detachable bits. Screwed collars for fine tuning of fit.

Did it fit ? I think a bit of hammering and welding and reconfiguration of one diagonal joint went on , thankfully I was not around at the time. The story was that cars vary within certain mm tolerance on certain dimensions, the cage is produced on a jig to a tighter mm spec ...so cage into car might require some fettling. Important that cage does not stress car. In my case probably more important that driver does not stress car
