Default Shark's Fin

Hi All!
Been awhile since my last post. Here goes it. The Shark's Fin between the door sill and rear wheels. Can the clips which hold this piece be replaced? Was told by the mechanic, they could not and would have to order new fins.
Right now, they are held in place with JB Weld. Might as well replace the rubbers since there is significant "shrinkage"

THANKS VERY MUCH!

Yes the clips can be replaced. I believe the clips are same as the rocker panels:

999 591 916 40 – clips

999 498 008 40 – plastic nuts

999 702 160 40 - grommet

Cheers,

Hi,
Actually in the official Porche manual, they suggest repairing the clips with epoxy cmpd just like JB Weld. I simply rewelded mine also with JB Weld...works just fine...but I did replace the shruken rubber stuff.

IMHO - these are really pretty cheap and they always break when you take them off, well most of the time for most people and always for me. so replacement is the safest bet. I went the JB weld route once and lost a Fin on the highway (it seperated and then pulled totally off.
my 2 cents.

Great to have the part numbers handy - they are normally in stock at the dealer

Kahdmus,
You don't know the part numbers for the black rubber strips that sit between the plastic outer sill and the body work do you? mine have shrunk as well.

Sailswich - did you replace your rubber strips in the end?

Cheers

John, I think the site is such a great resource for many that we begin to want to use it as a personal filing system! Sorry!

BTW, can we expect a 2004 photo comp?
