In my upgrade to Big Reds (or big blacks in my case), the recommended rear was that from a 965 (caliper and rotor). This recommendation came from Race Technologies and was based on fit and bias.

I still wish I could get the MC upgraded to the 993 C2 version for better pedal feel, but no luck yet on a source of the adapter required.

Tom,

I queried 9M in UK about the adaptors they did for Tony Taylor, and in fact they had his car in the shop the day I asked about it, however, they aren't returning my notes, so they must not be interested in the business. We need to locate someone who can make up a short adaptor. As I want to do this upgrade too, I may just pop for a 993 C2 master cylinder and then carry it to someone local to make up the fitting.

Bill,

If you find someone to do the work, please let us know here, as I for one, want one too. I may give my favorite wrench a call tonight to see if I can talk him into getting it done.

I did ask the mechanic who did the conversion but he couldn't really remember the adapter which was fabricated at some brake place or whatever. Colin, 9M owner, probably knows nothing about it.
I wrote this at the time

"The 993 MC was a direct bolt on but we had to use the 993 servo as the return spring on the 964 MC was on the MC itself but on the 993 it was integral in the servo - which was also a direct bolt on. ( obviously they managed to fabricate an adapter from the 10mm 993 MC to the 6mm 964 brake pipes)."

so don't forget to get the servo as well as the MC.

As far as the adapter is concerned I would just get some local brake pipe people to custom make an adapter - how hard can it be?

BTW pedal feel is much better.
