For those that have done this, did you guys leave the original rubber gaiter in place and add a new one over the top for shift boot? Or use a new one in place of the old one?
Also - When I finally got the shifter in and both the FD Rods installed, I could row through the gears (engine off and car stationary on lift) with no issue. After getting the gaiter on, reboot cup installed, and console back in place, i can no longer get the shifter into 4th gear. It feels completely blocked. The forward rod is adjusted so that the shifter is vertical, and the shifter seems centered otherwise with no left or right cant. Anything in particular i should look for?

You can use the old one if it is in good enough shape - I'm not sure how you would put a new one over the old one though.
Mine had gotten a bit hard and ugly, so I took it out and put a new one in. You will need the shift boot trim though (like the one by Swine Eleven), or you will just have a weird looking hole in your console.

Thanks. As it turned out, the old gaiter ripped when I tried to muscle it over the Billet shifter. The new rubber gaiter went over it fine with some silicone lube. I have the Swine Eleven reboot cup and it looks awesome. Great product. Now I’m having issues getting into 4th gear, when just last weekend after I got the SSK components installed it would go through all of the gears just fine. Weather is going to start getting nice and I want this car off the lift sooner than later!
It is pretty strange that 4th is sticking now - especially if 1st and 5th are working fine. Have you crawled underneath and had someone else go through the gears to see if anything is hanging up?
I hope it comes together quickly for you... The Rothsport shifter is fantastic, especially when it's paired up with the FD golden rod and forward shift rod. Makes me smile every single time I shift!
I’ll have to climb underneath and see if anything is hanging up. Bummer as the shifting feels awesome otherwise. Very mechanical and precise. I can’t wait to get the car back on the road to feel it in action.
Is the tunnel cover installed? You might need to dimple the tunnel cover a little to help with that. Try removing the tunnel cover and see if it goes into gear properly if so the rubber boot is probably binding between the cover and the shifter.

Thanks Anthony. I haven’t installed the tunnel cover yet, but the boot is on. I’m going to get underneath the car tonight to check it out. I never considered that the boot might be creating an issue. This is such a straight forward install I have been going nuts trying to think where I went wrong….. Even stranger is everything worked great initially until I sealed everything up internally with the Shift boot and console.
False alarm…..I hope. Climbed under the car and watched as my lovely wife rowed through the gears for me. She’s great at driving stick when the car isn’t running and there’s no tire contact to the ground. No obvious sign of binding. I fired the car up and ran through the gears letting the clutch out to get things moving in the transmission. I did a transmission fluid change also, so probably good to get some gear lube dispersed. No issues going into 4th. Everything felt awesome.
HOWEVER…….I did notice under the car when she popped the lever to the left to go into reverse that the bottom of the billet shifter makes contact with the side of the shift box. Is this normal?
WRT the shifter hitting the side of the box... I haven't checked it out yet, but mine definitely sounds like it is hitting. I was going to try adjust the forward rod a little longer, and maybe swap the sides that the pin goes through the shift rod, but just haven't had time yet. I would be interested to hear if it is normal too.
The car has a new FD forward rod and new FD black series “Golden” Rod.
Yeah mine do not do that. It looks like you have an additional washer between the slider and the shifter pushing it towards the right. I don't recall having anything more than the bushing there. But I'm going off 5 year old memory. Sometimes I don't remember what I had for breakfast lately.

You have a good eye Anthony. And I only did this a couple weeks ago and don’t remember what I did. I think it’s just the white plastic bushing, but I will investigate and report back.
Ok, so Cobalt was right. On the passenger side of the shifter I had the plastic bushing, flat metal washer, and spring washer. Other side had a plastic bushing and flat washer. I am getting good at removing the console and shifter components……….. A half hour later I had the spring washer flipped to the driver side. This essentially lets the whole assembly shift to the left which provides slightly more clearance on the right side when the shuttle pivots on the shift tube. I am still making a little bit of contact, but it isn’t as harsh as it was before. I’m sure if I moved the flat washer to the other side as well, it might help some more, but I don’t know if that thin washer would eliminate the contact. That would result in plastic bushing only on the right side and bushing/flat/spring/flat on the left side. That isn’t how Rothsport shows in the photo below. They show as I have it now after moving the spring washer to the driver side.
