Default Connector Identification

I was hoping for some help identifying a connector in the front cargo area. I recently picked up a 93 Carrera 4 and noticed there is a connector by the passenger side front hood hinge (see pictures). It is a 2 wire connector marked with a green dot and has a brown wire and a black/green striped wire going to it. It wasn’t connected to anything and I don’t see a location where this connector would connect. Any help would be appreciated!

That's the connector for the european side markers.
That black and green wire gets intermittent power when the turn signals are on, so if you connect it to anything else you'll create all sorts of fun electrical issues.

I also am a new 1989 C4 owner and found those same connectors. Yep side markers we do not have in the US.

Not side markers, but indicators. But otherwise yes.
