Hi all. Did something stupid this morning. When putting on the new connections for my battery tender this morning the wrench fell and hit the terminal pole on the battery and the pull wire for the trunk. Thus frying the cable and breaking it. The Bowden cable is fine. It’s just the pull wire that got damaged. How hard is this to replace? Looks like it screws into the clamp then goes into side of the inner fender and then I assume to the lever in the car. First pic is of the damage cable. Second with highlighted area (not my car) is where the cable goes into the fender. Thanks for any help.
I’m pretty sure the cable going into the fender where you have circled is the backup cable they added on the 91 and subsequent 964’s. It looks like it’s your backup that got fried. The main cable has a housing and goes inside the fender. You can confirm by gently pulling the inside handle to see if the frunk actuator moves.
I would think it would be easy enough to fish a new cable through there although I haven’t attempted it yet.
One thing I will add, the housing holder on your car is bent which can allow the housing to come loose and render the cable inoperable (ask me how I know) so you should definitely straighten it out and tighten it down around the housing so it can’t easily pop out.

Thank you! Yes I figured that our about the cable earlier. So is there any way you can be more specific on what is bent. I can't see it just by looking. Thanks again.
