The wire mesh grill insert is not that expensive!!

Are we talking about the front or the back? The front vent grille (a small wire mesh insert underneath the windshield) costs about $20 from Pelican, however the frame comes separately (its not obvious till you dismantle it) and costs $38. Before ordering a frame, take the old one out, separate it from the grille and see if it will clean up. My grille was about as bad as you can get but the frame cleaned up like absolute new, so I cancelled my order for the frame part!

Part #'s at Pelican were as follows, Grille: S-559-411-00, Frame: C-559-401-00.

Mel, not that I see the relevence or how this info assists, but the front vent grille is I believe wire with a plastic surround.

I believe Southampton76 is actually referring to the bumper ventilation grill (964 505 141 00), which is indeed plastic and retails around $65) but this is not clear from the post.
