Default Dead 964

Could use some advice.

No power on any ignition switch settings. Battery measures 12.48V. Ignition switch?

Could be a bad switch or it could be that you are measuring phantom voltage and you may need a new battery.
Try this. Get yourself a 12 volt headlight bulb and wire it directly to the battery. Does it light up full brilliance? What happens to battery voltage when bulb is lit?

negativ battery wire to chassis... have had this some years ago and with a new ground strap, it was gone...

Thank you. The battery is fine. Ground strap is about 1 year old.

While I was sitting in it with the key turned all the way to the right, the normal instrument lights came on, so I twisted the key to start and the car started. It’s at Autobahn Auto in Sea Girt NJ. Know more today.
