Default Help with paint code..!

Hello everyone… would appreciate your help with the following.
Recently purchased a MY 1990 964 C4 Euro, car is currently painted Black. My objective is to restore it back to OEM specs (with some under the radar upgrades to the suspension, motor, etc that this invaluable forum has provided.. thanks to everyone by the way.!).
I requested the PPS from Porsche to help
me get an idea of the original specs and also a report from Stuttcars. They match pretty much in everything except for the paint; the code is 50. Stuttcars lists it a being Linen whereas thr PPS says it is Speed Yellow.
I have tried to find some indication of the original color behind the door cards, sanding the top layer of the paint, under the dash, etc without success. Is 50 a code for PTS? Does anybody have an idea as to what the correct color is?

You can find a complete list of Porsche colours here for example:

https://www.elferclassic.de/technik/...lack-weiss.php

But as far as I know, a 2-digit number like „50“ is not a complete colour code. Linen would be „550“.
Does the car have the sticker under the front hood or in the service book?

I assume you don’t have the sticker on the drivers side inner fender behind the carpet (near the brake fluid reservoir)?

Based on that photo, I'm going to guess that the car was originally...black.
It would be rare for someone to put on a new sticker after changing the color, and rarer still for that sticker to be so worn that it's illegible.
The frunk where the sticker is should be painted body color, and so anything under the edges where that sticker is peeled back are the original color of the car.

That s far from a complete list. Many mistakes and not all colors shown.

There are more than one code. Take my Cobalt blue which would have been ordered as F6F6 but the actual paint code is 37U which is the solvent version or 38U which is a water based version of the color.

Speed yellow would have been 12G which would have been solvent based single stage or 12H which is water based single stage double shift process. All paint codes are 3 digits some all numbers some include a letter in the third location. I have the full factory document on paint codes for the 964 there is no 50 the closest is 550 which would be linen metallic offered in 89 and 90 MY's

The factory database can tell you the color by having your local dealership run the vin.

Thank you… this is the info from the Factory Database. Everything matches between this and the PPS description except for the Color.. which is listed in both documents as Code 50 with two different versions of color from each…

thanks.. I peeled the paint code sticker and the color behind it is black, but the sticker seems to have been been taken off and glued back.
Have reached out to Porsche in Germany to see if they can dig deeper into this issue and help resolve it.
I welcome any other ideas/siggestions..

The only thing with a 50 would be linen. I am checking and will get back with what I find.

2 digit codes are completely different from 3 digit codes
