Default That Darn Glovebox Latch!

Yes, I have fallen victim to the classic u-shaped latch popping out and staying connected to the locking mechanism.

So I recently bought the new latch pieces. However, after tireless searching for some beacon of knowledge, I am stuck in amazement and confusion.

Unless there is a nut used to hold this metal contraption to the plate... how does this stay in?

You can see the two slots and the two holes for the u-shaped latch.

Please... Someone rescue me!

Ok, I've "self-rescued"

After tooling around this space, Here is the info I searched the galaxy for.

The latch plate goes BEHIND the metal plate at the top of the glove box. You secure it with the screw on the left. But first, loosen the screw on the right but make sure the u-shaped piece is held in place slightly and is inserted in the top two holes. Now you are ready to hand tighten both screws down.
Try closing the Glove Box and carefully make adjustments to the u-shaped piece (in or out) by turning the screw counterclockwise verrrrrry slowly to give you enough slack for movement. Once everything lines up, hand tighten the screw and you're done!
