Targa roof - replacing plastic pin sleeves
Does anyone know how to remove the plastic sleeves around the anchoring pins on the targa roof? I tried simply pulling with a pliers, but I didn't want to go too hard at it before knowing if there's a proper way. Thanks in advance!

Assuming you intend to replace them I would use a box cutter and splice a side so it easily comes off.

I am replacing them and I was contemplating that approach, but I don't want to cut 'em off and then not have a good way to put the new ones on securely.
Any targa experts out there?

Heh - that's a big nope for me. They're not that bad right now and the top is both water tight and relatively quiet. I don't want to make things worse. If the current sleeves get worse, I'll think about it.
Thanks!

The new ones need a little persuasion to get back on. I used a very small amount of dishwashing soap and a deep socket the fit over the sleeve. One tap with a hammer and they did slide into place. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes and significantly reduced rattles a squeak. It's a very easy fix.
