habe this bought, car is not assembled yet... But i had something similar last year, but without the proper plastic casing... Works quite good for fresh-air and the assembly from the link has also a drainage, which should be very helpful..

and: you do not need to buy the fan that is recommended with the porsche order number... an old audi 80/90 (in germany, in the states type 5000?) share the same part - number is: 034959175Bought mine for 20,- at ebay..
