HI, i am needing a new oil pump. Anyone know if the gt3 or the 996 turbo oil pump is better? I mainly care about reliability and longevity as its just a street car. Any engineered better? I heard 996 turbo guys upgrade their pumps to the gt3? But also heard 996 turbo pump flows more on the pressure side. Presently, the gt3 pump is a little cheaper but would require some case grinding i believe. The 996 turbo pump cost a little more but fits easily. I rather not case grind unless its better. Not sure which to buy. thanks

I believe it's the GT3 version on the website.

here's a 964 pump top and a GT3 pump bottom.



The pressure of the GT3 pumps 27.6% more oil than the 964

on the scavenge side the GT3 pumps 12.9% more oil than the 964

I don't have the 996 turbo pump specs but the go to pump for everyone including 996t guys is the GT3

I put a turbo pump in my 911 2.8L build. the main difference is the gt3 pump has an additional pickup on the bottom of the pump to allow for oil scavenge under heavy braking (at bottom of sump).
You should see the size compared to the stock 2.7 pump
Had to make some oiling system changes for example the bypass valve pressure spring, flow restrictors on the cam tensioners, a few other things etc

964 most guys use the gt3 pump as they are going big

turbo pump will be fine too especially if you're not doing a full send 964 build
