Question Oil leak....from where?

Hi,

I have noticed a leak coming from the left side rear tyre (passenger side on RHD vehicle, Drivers side on LHD).

I have searched & most threads mention a leak from the right side where the oil filler & the oil return hoses are but I've no leak from this side.

Any ideas where it might be coming from?

Thanks in advance
Derek

Default leak

hello, your freon lines run in the left hand rear tire area. there is a panel that you can remove that exposes the lines, might be more easier to get to if you remove wheel.

Might be your shock or brake line?

If it's oil, check the cam tower and and around the chain tensioner housing. That's a leak that can occur on either side.

Please post what you discover and how it gets fixed. If you can identify the location, I can help you identify the part(s) and seal.

Does this sound like a $$$ repair?

Any oil leak that requires dropping or removing the engine is going to be expensive - it's all labor cost. If it comes that, this is a good time to do some other things: valve adjustment, plug replacement, engine mods, etc.

Actually on second inspection it was not engine oil, just had the car checked & yes it's coming from the shock. Thanks for all replies.
