18 wheels....impressions
This will be a short one as I haven't driven the car hard yet.
First of all, as you all know (maybe?) the whole set of these 18 inch wheels weighs in at 30.6kgs......! That is lighter than D90's I believe. I don't know if it is that, but the rise is much better than before. So now I need stiffer suspension..DOH!!!!!!!
Tony, the wheels fit just fine but are very close to the oil line. On mine, on the rear RHS (i.e. the same side as the line) I had a slight problem. My rear arm I think has been very slightly damaged at some point and therefore will not give less than 30 minutes of toe in (should be around 15). From what I understood, that meant that it was even closer to the oil line, so we put a shim on there just to be on the safe side. The car was aligned and the neg cambers went from around half a degree to neg 1 degree all round... so far apart frpm the better ride, I haven't noticed any changes, no tramlining (or no worse) at all. When braking hard though, the fronts seems slightly more sensitive to surface imperfections but not overly so..
That's it for now.
PS - I KERBED THE FU**** FRONT WHEEL PULLING UP OUTSIDE MY HOUSE TONIGHT (ABOUT AN HOUR AGO...) I GUESS IT WAS ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN AT SOME STAGE...BUT WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

Christer,
I'm really suprised they fit but I guess you need a break every now and then
It would be worth pulling the rears off when you have been for a drive with some spirited cornering since thats when mine seem to be hitting things ( fo reasons no one can explain ) and have a look for any marks.
Changing the camber can affect steering feel (eg under braking)
