Default Something not quite right

Just thought I'd post a quick warning to any aspiring UK 964 owners who come accross a '93 Midnight Blue C2 Tip Coupe Reg K333 ***

I drove down south (Southampton) to give this car the once over.

I'm no expert but having given the car a thorough walking through with all my buying notes and Adrian's book in hand I walked away.

Something is not right with this car and if anyone comes accross it I suggest a thorough professional PPI,

Adrian

Ade, can you be specific? What makes you say this?

Howard,

Big Oil leak very wet underneath

Spoiler curtain torn

Badly neglected (poor tickover stall on aircon or gear selection) No meaningful service history other than replacement service book with 2 stamps from an eternity ago and a new steering rack

Front end I believe had a carpet from an earlier model, the boot release catch had no spring and appeared to have been refitted badly, the n/s front wing appears to be non-factory quality with bare metal on inner wheel arch. Loads of sprayshop dust under the carpet all round engine bay.

Rear o/s quarter panel big patch of bubbly rust.

Bad respray

Didn't track straight and true on test drive,

I think it's still viable at the right price with a good PPi hence the suggestion.

Hope this helps

Adrian

Ade, seems a lot more specific than a "something!"

Cheers,

Just thought I would correct myself the sprayshop dust is actually in the boot not the engine bay, it was late when I posted and in a momentary lapse I said this as it was at the front of the car!!!!!!

Christer??????????????

It was a 1993 964 C2 Coupe with aircon and on board computer. Light grey linen leather with sports seats and in Midnight Blue metallic with eibach 20mm lowering springs.

I was just appealing to Rennlist users to be vigilant and look at the condition not the spec.

I tried a 993 weekend before last and don't think I want one.

How's your engine fitting going?

Adrian

My apologies, I could have sworn where it says '93 that it said 993....i think it is old age.....

The engine is in, not much progress today though as they were faffing about with some Motec stuff and looking for some bigger injectors. Should be starting it up tomorrow though......

Christer,

Good luck tomorrow.

Looking forward to the first road test results,
