David,

I did clean the AFM except that I did not remove the top cover to gain access to the actual sensor. The cover was held down by some sort of silicone. And since the sensor is sensitive to contamination, I didn't want to reseal it with just some off the shelf silicone. Any idea as to what type of silicone can be used?

Dave K mentions here that it is ordinary clear sealant. I'd be tempted to give it a go and watch for the pitting that Dave indicates shows the sensor may need replacing.

RTV ordinary bathroom sealant.

Most RTV silicone is not compatible with your oxygen sensor and will severely shorten its life. Be 100% positive that the sealant you use says "oxygen sensor safe" somewhere on its labeling.
